What is Adventure Racing?
Adventure racing is defined as the ultimate outdoor mixed discipline sport with races varying between 1 and 7 days and racing anywhere in the region of 600 km.
For many race formats, teams are self-supporting and can only use a compass for navigation, deciding on the route, when to rest, and ensuring to make the check points within cut off-times.
Each race varies, however typically adventure racing can include trekking | running | kayaking | rafting | mountain biking | climbing | orienteering | caving | SUP | Coasteering.
Teams are made up predominantly of 4 persons with many organisers requiring a minimum of 1 man and 1 woman per team to be ranked. However other race formats exist including teams of two persons or sometimes larger teams including support crew.
